Pre Admission

Your booking will be made through your doctor's surgery. For a smooth admission process, we ask that you attend to the following matters prior to your admission:

PRE ADMISSION INFORMATION

24 hours prior to admission, please telephone our Pre Admission Coordinator with your details on 02 8876 9387 from Monday 9.00am-3.00pm, Tuesday 9.30am-3.00pm, Wednesday 9.00am-3.00pm, Thursday 8.00am-2.00pm, Friday 9.30am-3.00pm. Country admissions please phone 48hrs prior to admission. This contact you have with the Pre Admissions Office will confirm your details, including date and proposed time of your admission, your procedure and your expectations relating to discharge and post discharge care.

WHAT TO BRING

  • Letters from your doctor
  • Medicare Card
  • Health Fund membership book or card
  • Department of Veterans‘ Affairs card, any Pension Entitlement card, any Pharmaceutical Entitlement card
  • Relevant existing X-rays and CT scans
  • All medications you are currently taking (including tablets, vitamins, mixtures, creams, inhalers or drops). If possible, please bring a list from your General Practitioner of your current medications, their strengths and dosages.
  • Sleepwear, dressing gown for overnight stay and slippers or comfortable shoes
  • Glasses, hearing aids and non-electronic walking aids
  • Toiletries, including soap, toothpaste and toothbrush

You will be provided with a security locker for medication and small personal items. However, we recommend that you do not bring large amounts of cash or any jewellery items with you. A few dollars is recommended for incidental items such as magazines. Newspapers are free.

The Hospital cannot accept responsibility for your valuables.

Mobile phones should not be used in the Wards as their signals can interfere with electronic medical equipment.
